It’s finally announced! Canada vs the World is here and it’s airing on November 18!
Nine legendary drag performers from all around the world will battle in a six-episode series for the coveted title of global drag superstar.
The new trailer is heavily influenced by disco and the queens are working it! Here’s the trailer:
The Queens
Anita Wigl’it, a New Zealander who participated in season one of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under, is among the outstanding lineup.
The very own Icesis Couture of Canada’s Drag Race, who went on to win the second season of their show, will compete alongside Kendall Gender, who starred in the same season. Rita Baga from season one and Stephanie Prince from season two, who were both hugely successful in the Canadian edition, will join them.
Ra’Jah O’Hara, a star of the US version of RuPaul’s Drag Race and season six of All Stars, is bringing her groove back for this season. She’ll also be joined by her former co-star from both series, Silky Nutmeg Ganache.
Vanity Milan and Victoria Scone, both from the UK edition, are stepping up to compete against the international drag queens.
Canada vs. the World will be streamed live in the UK on BBC Three, while the rest of the world may follow along on WOW Presents Plus.
Brad Goreski and Traci Melchor will judge the queens, while Brooke Lynn Hytes returns as the show’s host once more.
So, I think this is fabulous! The cast got me pretty excited, especially Icesis, Victoria and Vanity! I just really hope it’s not gonna be like UK vs the World. That was a fever dream for everybody. I guess the show will have the same lipstick elimination format, but that’s not confirmed yet.
