Max who was a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7, posted some worrisome statements yesterday on Twitter. It all started with a tweet by Max saying: “I am tired.”
People online started to speculate that Max was only exhausted from performing. However, soon enough Max continued to post more disheartening tweets. They posted how the world feels heavier and how they lost a lot of opportunities in the past – probably referring to their post Drag Race experience.
Because of that tweet, Max got some replies from their Drag Race sisters. Darienne Lake even jokingly said: “There’s still time. You could take 20 years of metamorphosis and still be younger than Kasha Davis. She’s still going stronger than ever.”
April Carrión also wrote some encouraging words for Max: “Sending u love. Ur alive there’s still many opportunities.”
However, the following tweet from Max got the fans really worried. Max wrote: “Don’t want to die, but don’t know how to live really.”
It’s fairly obvious from the tweets that Max is suffering, however they haven’t explicitly given any reasons. Fans and some Drag Race queens wrote some supporting messages. Shea Couleé wrote: “Sending you love Max. Hope that you heal from whatever has you feeling so down.”
Charity Kase and April also left some loving replies.
What’s going on with Max?
Well, nobody knows for sure, but the tweets definitely indicate they’re going through a rough time. Nobody can diagnose a person just based on Twitter, nevertheless some fans insist Max is probably depressed and should get professional help.
Max really had it rough during and after her gig on Season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. I thought Max would go all the way, because of their sheer talent. However, when the season was over, we saw how Max was edited on the show. In my opinion, one of the worst edits the show has ever produced for a contestant.
After the season, Max lost her management team and couldn’t promote herself enough to stay relevant through the years. It’s quite unfortunate, since I really believe Max is one of the most talented queens to appear on the show.
If Max is struggling, Twitter won’t cut it. Virtual support is nice and cute, however it’s not enough. If Max is really struggling with depression they should definitely seek some professional and authentic help. The majority of people have probably hit rock bottom in their lives, however we can’t judge other people solely based on our own experiences – it never ends well.
I really do feel for Max and hope they soon overcome the struggle they are facing.
